The Castaway is a board designed to handle a very large variety of waves. It is my answer to those who are looking for a single board quiver. The front half of the board features lower entry rocker, volume forward design to help it paddle into anything. While the back half has a more performance rocker to keep it lively.
Although it has a wider outline, the double bump in the tail dramatically reduces the surface area under your back foot. This helps to engage the tail and fins in steeper waves. It also provides pivot points along the rail line to decrease its turning radius.
The Castaway comes standard with a five fin setup. I recommend riding it as a quad when if you are looking to do larger open faced carves, or increase its hold/drive when racing through tubes. When the waves get smaller, throw in a thruster set to gain more pivot and response.
